West Hyde and Springwell Lake

Sun 3rd May 2015
A late afternoon visit to West Hyde and then Springwell Lake,
A pair of Linnet flew along the hedgerow, a Red Kite drifted over, lots of Skylark in full voice, a pair of Yellowhammer was nice to see, a handful of Swallow flew through and a singing Whitethroat. Walking back to the car I could see in the distance, roughly in the Harefield area c10 Red Kite.

Over to Springwell Lake. Plenty of Swallow over the lake and 7 Swift flew through quite high. Lots of Blackcaps calling along with 3 Cetti's Warbler, the pair of Goldeneye are still present and a single singing Garden Warbler. A nice surprise was a Common Sandpiper sitting on a fallen tree close to the viewpoint.
