Guillemots and Divers

Sat 28th Dec 2013
Portland Harbour and then Brixham Harbour with Paul, Tony S and Brendan.
At Portland Harbour we joined about 150 other birders. A Razorbill showed itself first but then shortly after that our intended target the Brunnich's Guillemot surfaced almost right in front of us. Then dived and stayed under quite some time, then resurfacing about 50 yards away. This was the pattern for most of the time we were there. We were on a tight time schedule because we were keen to head over to Brixham Harbour. Also at Portland were 30+ Red-breasted Merganser, Black Guillemot, Kingfisher, Black-throated Diver.
At Brixham Harbour we soon connected with the White-billed Diver. Also noted here; Great-northern Diver, Black-throated Diver, Slavonian Grebe. Brunnich's Guillemot and White-billed Diver pics below with a Shag thrown in for good measure!
